Imminent

Our third attempt at Ludum Dare! This time we have created a game based on ongoing real life events. So if anyone is taking modern military conflicts too close to heart, consider this as trigger warning.

You are playing as Alya, fresh from Academy Lieutenant commanding Fox-10 squad. Alongside your squadmates young volunteer Neka and battle hardened veteran Suzu you are manning an anti-aircraft vehicle named “The Carapace”. Look at the radar, pick approaching air targets and try to intercept them to save the day for your allies and civilians alike.

Controls

Control the cone of fire with A/D or arrow keys.

Use left click to select targets on the radar.

Press yellow button to reload the tubes, red button to fire rockets!

I literally cried for the first 5 minutes since the start of the game. Both the music and replicts fit the gameplay perfectly. Very well done!

Okay, the first thing I immediately noticed is the game is a pro-Russian perspective on the Ukraine conflict. Bit of a red flag in my book, but Syrian Warfare was fun so I gave it a shot.

Game is actually a pretty neat modern take on Missile Command. You have to keep targets in the radar cone to actually shoot them down and you can assign multiple missiles to higher priority targets. Actually pretty fun.

Could use some polish though. There's no real way to tell how the scoring works. You can't really end the game without quitting. I also frequently ran into and issue of not being able to tell how many missiles were assigned to which plane.

TLDR, I don't agree with the dev's politics, but the game seems like a good foundation.

Anything may happen but i am always on side of art. Cool concept, but it requires either more lore explaination. Or if it takes inspiration from real world, you should make majority of planes to appear from west part of the screen if girls are protecting. Otherwise will be waiting for updates

Keep on keeping up.
